About the director
Vivek Kumar
Born, brought up & educated in Mumbai,India, I graduated from the Sydenham College after finishing my schooling from The Cathedral & John Connon School.
I started assisting the ace Tamil Director Mr Bharathi Rajaa & completed a diploma in ‘Film Production’ from the Xavier’s Institute of Communication, Mumbai.
My film Production Company Vicky Films P. Ltd., incorporated in 1982 has since been steadily & successfully producing, completing & releasing feature films of different genres. I have had the good fortune to work with some of the best talent available in the Indian & International Entertainment industry. These include the double Oscar winner A. R. Rahman, Sukhvinder Singh& Salman Ahmed of the famed ‘Junoon’ Band (‘Sayonee’ song) . Not to forget Glenn Douglas Packard who apart from being nominated for his work on the Michael Jackson: 30th Anniversary special has worked with people celebrities as Michael Jackson, Pink, Usher, Liza Minnelli & Whitney Houston.
I have had the opportunity to shoot my films in various locations Worldwide. These includeKrakow, (Poland), Bern & Interlaken (Switzerland), Manali & Rohtang (Himachal Pradesh),Jaisalmer, Samode (Rajasthan), Madhumalai , Ooty , Chennai (Tamil Nadu), Patiala (Punjab), Hyderabad (Andhra Pradesh), Pune & Mumbai City (Maharashtra) in India.
Our next outing is a musical love story set against the backdrop of Big Fat Indian weddings ofNRI’s families settled in the US . This will be a Bi lingual film shot simultaneously in Punjabi(tentatively titled ‘Dhol Patashe’) & English (tentatively titled ‘The Big Fat Indian Wedding). The Tentative star cast includes known actors from the Punjabi & American industry. Pre Production & Music work is in Progress & the film will be shot in New Jersey, US from August 2022.
This will be followed with a Big Action Multistarrer HINDI Project produced by me & Directed by the Top Most Director Amar Hundal who has Directed the Super Hit Film ‘Warning’ that is produced by Gippy Grewal. His next ‘Babbar’ starring Amrit Maan is due for release.
